Headteachers letter
Dear Parents and Carers

Spring has sprung and winter has ended rather quickly this year.  Our fields are looking fabulous, pupils outside getting some air and sun, during breaks and lunch.  It is at this time of the year that I am made aware again of our setting and remind myself how lucky we are in our grounds and environment.

Our Year 11 students are moving towards their final half term before the exam season starts in full.  Our predictions this year, leads me to have the confidence in that our results will be the best we have ever had. The additional focus and determination from students, their families and staff will produce exam results that we will all be proud of in August.

The remaining six weeks of focus can make a difference still and as much as a full grade at GCSE in the final examination. The school has been running additional classes after school and will continue to do so after the Easter break. There will be a full programme of classes in the first week of the Easter break.  Students will already have been targeted and/or invited to sign up for specific days, as well as a general offer.

It is important for students who have been asked to attend to do so.  These young people will be those who need a specific input from a particular subject to ensure that they attain their Monitoring Grade.

If parents and carers have any questions about the arrangements and classes over Easter, please check our website in the first instance then email: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it for futher information.

Our Year 9 Camp takes place just after the next half term.  Please encourage your children to attend if they are in that year group.  It will be a very positive experience and one that sets them up for the transition to KS4 in September.

Year 9 Options are coming to an end with some final adjustments to our curriculum to ensure that our young people gain the subjects that they have indicated they wish to study.  Please contact Mr Duffy on: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it if you have any questions regarding this process.

Year 7 students move into their House groups next term and their transition into secondary school is then complete.  If you have any questions regarding this process, please contact Ms Barton on: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . We welcome any feedback, either what has worked well or what we could do better, from families regarding transition arrangements.

Thank you for your continued support and confidence this year, it has been one which has been a testing one for all the staff at Longhill, our students and families.  It is only with your support that we will be able to be the best we can.

Yours sincerely

Mr Haydn Stride
